Wow! I tried to upload a picture and it hadn't loaded after 15 minutes. Is my computer that slow, or is there something wrong with the site?

Hi Girls! I seem to be the senior member here. I am 59 and went through menopause instantly with cancer and chemotherapy 5 years ago. I'm a born optimist, so I have to say, that was one good side-effect of the ordeal.
I am married and we have a grown son. He and his wife live about 25 miles away and are raising their 3 yr. old girl. We are raising their 'almost seven yr. old' boy. He has ADHD and Asthma. We live on husband's grandparents' farm and Jord has plenty of room to run off energy and can make all the noise he wants. We live by a game refuge, so there are birds and animals of all sorts. We also have about a dozen cats (2 inside).
Trying to 'repair' the farm is a full time job. It was neglected then deserted. Blackberry vines(over 20 feet high) had taken the house and yard over. The pump wasn't working and the electrical lines had been connected in 1937! The house hadn't been painted in over 40 years, so my husband did that this summer.
My method of coping is with humor. If I didn't laugh, I'd cry. And I don't need anymore frown lines!
I don't get on the computer much, except to read my emails, so if you want to talk, feel free to write me at rmbt3@yahoo.com.
Happy Valentines' Day,
Judy B

Why aren't we Mature Mommies communicating with one another, and becoming friends. It is difficult to do it in the real wordl, but we should be able to communicate and talk about the things we have been thru so if anyone else is going thru it, we can advise them what we did, and comfort one another.

Hi all:

Just to say hello, and to see if anyone wants to talk about the problems, and the goodness we confront as mature mamies. I for one find myself dealing with two adults that think like teenagers, and a child that thinks and behaves like an adult. Me I am the one in the middle who puts some fun into my life and theirs. I have let go of the anxiety, and dissapointments of the raising of these children, and figuring out that
whatever has going wrong with their lives IS NOT MY FAULT, I did the best I could with what I had, and I am always here for them.

Karen,
I don't know when it ends! I started in my early 40's and I just turned 50 and I'm still NUTS!! I finally stopped getting my period about a year ago, but my hormones are still crazy. My GYN said that I'm "in" menopause now...whatever that means!! I want to be "out"!!!

Well I am 58, twice happily divorced, 2 adult children, 1 8 yr old adopted grandchild.
Being thru menopause, it started kind of early. Let's talk.
